„The role of cities in the EU policy towards China”, 2020-2023, financed by Polish National Science Centre.

I am a Principal Investigator in this project that aims to examine the cooperation between the European and Chinese cities. We are going to map this phenomenon and try to understand the role that cities play in the EU’s policy towards China. More info about project you can find here.

Jean Monnet Module “Europe as an Actor in Asia”, 2020-2023, financed by the European Commission.

The flagship outcome of the project will be the book, written in a collaboration between me and my students. This academic publication is going to look at the European Union activities in Asia through the prism of three interlinked areas: development (including urbanisation), climate change and civil society (including gender issues).

Competing Regional Integrations in Southeast Asia (CRISEA), 2017-21, financed by the European Commission.

In this Horizon 2020 research project I act as a representative of the University of Lodz in the capacity of a member of the Steering Committee and a leader of work package „Environment”. More info about the project you can find on CRISEA website.

Jean Monnet Module “Asia as a Challenge for the EU”. 2016-2018, financed by the European Commission.

Within this project I conducted classes using innovative methods of teaching  (such as gamification). Together with students I prepared
a vademecum  for secondary school students about the EU and a book devoted to the policy of the EU towards Asian states

„The role of regions in the EU policy towards China”, 2016-2019, financed by Polish National Science Centre.

I was a Principal Investigator in this project implemented together with the Polish Institute of International Affairs. It aimed at understanding the role of cooperation between European and Chinese regions in the politics of the European Union towards China. The study involved the phenomenon of paradiplomacy, i.e., relations of international subnational entities whose goal is to achieve economic, cultural, and political benefits. „The political significance of investments carried out by Sovereign Wealth Funds in Central and Eastern Europe”, 2012-2015, financed by Polish National Science Centre.

I was a Principal Investigator in this project that explained the political motives behind Sovereign Wealth Fund’s investments. Main findings of the project were presented in the edited volume followed by the monograph and series of journal articles (i.e. in prestigious Energy Studies)

Connection – the model for cooperation between the university and business”, 2011-2014, financed by European Social Fund.

I was a manager of this project, which aimed at creation and implementation of an innovative model of cooperation between a university and graduates. Within the framework of the project a handbook on the cooperation between the university and business was compiled (which I co-authored). I also delivered number of public speeches presenting the model and consulting sessions for interested universities. The project was a huge logistic, organisational and financial undertaking which was implemented over the period of three years in a very difficult partnership with two external institutions.
